Toddler Programs:

Preschool Program:

KDO Preschool’s philosophy and practice is to consider children’s individual development, personality and learning style, rather than just their chronological ages when determining where they will best “fit.” Some children learn best in a smaller, quieter environment; others thrive amid a larger, more active environment.

For purposes of placement in one of our preschool classes, children must be completely toilet trained and demonstrate developmentally appropriate motor skills and expressive and receptive language skills. In general, children are two and a half or older when they have met these milestones.

Preschool 1 & 2 (Three Year Olds):

Children who turn three by December 31 of the school year. Children enrolling in these classes must be toilet trained before starting school.

Preschool 3 & 4 (Four Year Olds & Pre-Kindergarten):

Children who turn four by September 1 of the school year for Preschool 4 (pre-K); children who turn 4 by December 31 for Preschool 3. In these classes, KDO’s multi-sensory phonics program supplements a pre-Kindergarten curriculum.

Preschool 5 (Kindergarten/Pre-Primary):

Children who turn 5 by September 1 or who score appropriately on kindergarten readiness assessments.

KDO Preschool’s individualized kindergarten curriculum reinforces and reviews the multi-sensory phonics instruction taught in preschool 3 & 4. Parents and teachers of KDO’s Preschool 5 “graduates” have praised our students’ preparedness for elementary school, particularly their reading readiness skills. KDO’s Preschool 5 class is ideal for:
